Orange Krush Hijacks N’western Contest
As far as college basketball goes, the state of Illinois will always bleed the orange and blue of the Fighting Illini - even at intrastate rival Northwestern’s Welsh-Ryan Arena.
During a break in the action of Illinois’ 62–41 win over the Wildcats on Sunday, three participants clad in purple Northwestern t-shirts participated in a tricycle race contest that required them to ride their bikes around before hitting layups. All three participants eventually hit their shots before lifting up their shirts to reveal that they were, in fact, members of Illinois’ Orange Krush student section.
For Northwestern fans, it was likely salt in the wound while watching their team shoot a paltry 25% from the field in the loss.
