Washington Recruit Tweet Leads To Firing

Another day, another ill-advised athlete tweet.

Tony Wroten, the 14th best recruit in the nation who is headed to Washington in the fall, tweeted in January about his three-person Spanish class that was a sham only to get the blue-chip point guard into college.

“just me and my 2 bros,” Wroten tweeted. “we got a 3 person Spanish class. #Niccceeee.”

Well, that tweet led to an investigation which ultimately resulted in the firing of the high school’s athletic director.

Wroten should be fine, as he only needs to pass his Spanish class this semester. But you can bet Lorenzo Romar will have a nice chat about social media when Wroten steps on campus.
