Nick Saban In Hot Water Over Comments

Have you ever wondered why college football coaches always give the most vanilla answers possible? Here’s why.

John Elway, who is now the Denver Broncos executive vice president of football operations, was recently quoted as saying that in a recent conversation with Alabama head coach Nick Saban, the Crimson Tide head man was so complimentary of Auburn QB Cam Newton that the Tigers would not have won four games without him last fall.

Obviously, that didn’t go over well on The Plains, and Saban quickly “clarified” by saying he actually told Elway that Auburn won four more games than they would have won without Newton.

Auburn went 14-0 and won the national title with the Heisman Trophy winner and it’s hard to imagine Saban would have thought the team would have gone just 3-8 without him considering three of Auburn’s wins came against Arkansas State, Louisiana-Monroe and Chattanooga.

But you can bet Auburn fans will use this as just another reason to hate their in-state rival.
