Notre Dame Football: Brian Kelly Arrives at Practice on Horseback (PHOTO)

Brian Kelly arrived at Notre Dame’s first full-pads practice Friday morning on horseback. That’s one way to make an entrance.

The Irish have been holding camp at Culver Military Academy, about 40 miles outside of South Bend. Because Culver is home to the Black Horse Troop, Kelly’s entrance is certainly fitting.

Culver, a college prep boarding high school, has deep ties with the Irish dating back to the Knute Rockne era in the 1920s. Lou Holtz used to train his teams there in the 1990s as well.

That’s not a bad look for Coach Kelly.
