Northern Illinois Football: Huskies Unveil New Home Uniforms (PHOTOS)

Northern Illinois football unveiled new home uniforms on Saturday, which will have a less pronounced — yet much better — look than the Corn Fest alternates they debuted earlier this month.

The key additions to the new set are the all-red and all-black looks, as well as the permanent implementation of “dark dog” uniform, which debuted last season.

Changes to the jersey and pants are minimal, most notably swapping “Huskies” out from the chest and adding “NIU” to establish maximum branding and distinguish itself from all the other Huskies out there.

The helmets will have a new look with three matte black variations. Overall, the old look was far from broken and the school was wise not to do much fixing. Grade: B+
