New Buckeyes Floor Has Ohio Silhouette

When seventh-ranked Ohio State hosts No. 9 Kansas in Columbus on Saturday, it will mark the first game that the Buckeyes get to show off their new court at Value City Arena.

On Thursday, OSU Associate Athletic Director for Communications Dan Wallenberg tweeted out a photo of center court. The school’s traditional athletics logo is in the center of a silhouette of the state of Ohio that’s slightly darker in tone that the rest of the floor.

Wallenberg later tweeted out a rendering of the entire court to give Buckeyes fans a sense of what the shading would look like from above.

In this age of increasingly crazy court designs, what Ohio State did was cool, subtle and understated. The only potential downside is rival Michigan fans pointing out that it somewhat resembles an Ohio-shaped dog urine stain.
