NCSU’s Privette, Leslie on ‘Today Show’

The story of how wheelchair-bound NC State student Will Privette rushed the floor, was knocked to the ground by a horde of students and was saved from being trampled by Wolfpack star C.J. Leslie following Saturday’s upset of Duke now has a national audience.

Privette and Leslie were interviewed on Tuesday’s edition of “The Today Show” and took co-hosts Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie through everything that transpired. While Privette has discussed his vantage point of the events several times since Saturday, we also got a chance to see what Leslie experienced.

“I saw him and I picked him up, and at first I thought he was going to be a little traumatized,” Leslie said. “But when he got in my arms he started cheering, so I just started cheering with him. We cheered for about three or four minutes, but after that I had to put him down because my arm was getting a little tired.”

It’s pretty priceless to see Leslie enjoying this whole thing with and as much as Privette. They’re clearly going to love every one of the 15 minutes of fame they receive.
