NBA Players Draw Their College Mascots

Comments

Apparently, fine arts are not the most common of majors selected by star college basketball players.

During the 2012 Rookie Transition Program and NBA Rookie Photo Shoot this past summer, Panini America — a leading publisher of collectibles, comics and children’s magazines — asked for some of the NBA’s younger stars to submit hand drawings. Some of the results posted to Panini’s blog on Sunday, particularly the players’ renderings of their college’s mascots, are hilarious.

Let’s talk a quick perusal of the gallery, shall we?

.

TRISTAN THOMPSON (TEXAS)

Supposed to Be: Longhorn

Looks Like: Apathetic man-rabbit

.

JOHN HENSON (NORTH CAROLINA)

Supposed to Be: Tar Heel

Looks Like: Frightened moose

.

MICHAEL KIDD-GILCHRIST (KENTUCKY)

Supposed to Be: Wildcat

Looks Like: Happy house cat (with a side drawing that unintentionally [we hope] looks like a male’s private parts)

.

ANDRE DRUMMOND (UCONN)

Supposed to Be: Husky

Looks Like: Black sheep sticking its tongue out

.

THOMAS ROBINSON (KANSAS)

Supposed to Be: Jayhawk

Looks Like: Actually, this one looks like a Jayhawk. Well done, Thomas Robinson.
