Frank Haith Charges at Hogs’ Anderson

If you thought that the fight at the end of Tuesday’s St. John’s-Notre Dame game was ugly, it would have been nothing compared to what nearly transpired between coaches Frank Haith and Mike Anderson during the Arkansas-Missouri match-up.

With the Tigers opening up a big lead en route to a 93–63 rout of the Razorbacks, Haith and Anderson got into a heated shouting match on the sideline. It got so bad that Haith charged at Anderson heading into a timeout. Thankfully Haith was restrained before reaching Anderson.

The beef could stem from Anderson — who was Mizzou’s coach for five seasons (2006–2011) before taking the Arkansas job — taking credit for the success Haith enjoyed in his first season in Columbia before falling short in the NCAA tournament.

In retrospect, Haith probably wisely realizes that a 30-point beatdown is a far more satisfying response than trying to pick a fight.
