Michigan State Riots After B1G Title

Prior to Saturday night, Michigan State hadn’t been able to celebrate a Rose Bowl berth in 26 years. After the Spartans upset second-ranked Ohio State in the Big Ten title game, some folks in East Lansing did so in literally riotous fashion.

Dozens of riots and furniture burnings broke out across the city. Caught woefully unprepared and outnumbered, local police “stood by with little to do but watch as neighborhood descended into chaos,” according to The State News. And last night’s riots paled in comparison to what Michigan State students have done in the past.

Perhaps they were banking too much on a Buckeyes victory.
