Ex-Cal Star Lynch Scores in Spring Game
Former Cal running back and current Seattle Seahawks standout Marshawn Lynch has long been a player and person who’s marched to the beat of his own drum.
Yet it was still surprising for many Bears fans at Saturday’s spring game to see the three-time NFL Pro Bowler suit up — and score a TD for — his alma mater.
Lynch took a simple inside handoff from 22 yards out and ran untouched for a score. Of course, coach Sonny Dykes’ directive to his players had a lot to do with that.
.@coachsonnydykes said he told the defense it’d be $25 million fine if they tackled Marshawn Lynch. “I didn’t want to get a call from Pete [Carroll].”

It’s pretty cool to see that Lynch will always be a Cal Bear at heart. And since it’s Beast Mode we’re talking about, it makes sense that he’d demonstrate that in an unconventional way. Marshawn Lynch profile
