LSU Fullback Concussed Self in Shower
Saturday’s game at top-ranked Alabama marks LSU fullback J.C. Copeland’s return to action after being out with a concussion the past two games - but not a concussion he sustained on the field.
Two days before the Tigers’ 27-24 loss to Ole Miss on October 19th, Copeland concussed himself after slipping on the soapy floor of the shower.
“I was walking and I was turning the corner and I slipped and my hand slipped while I was falling, tried to catch myself and I hit the side of my head,” Copeland told reporters Monday, in his first public comments about the incident. “That’s all I remember after that. Five to 10 minutes was like a blank, and I didn’t know what happened.”
The fall left Copeland so dazed and confused that at one point, he called himself “Luscious Brown.” (“Don’t know where that came from,” he told reporters.)
Hey, if he helps the Bayou Bengals pull the upset on Saturday night, Copeland can call himself whatever he wants.
