Georgia Loses DE Recruit Over Bad Portrait?

Georgia football’s new initiative of sending recruits hand-drawn portraits of themselves is one of the more clever recruiting tactics we’ve seen recently. Alas, UGA probably never considered the potential drawbacks of the portraits not being well-received.

“They did (the portraits) for me and (DE) Raekwon McMillan,” DE and Bulldogs signee Lorenzo Carter told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “I looked good in (the portrait), compared to how I look in real life. Raekwon’s picture didn’t look good. It was ugly. He didn’t like it. That’s probably why he didn’t come to UGA (and signed with Ohio State).”

Considering how many recruits pick schools based on cool uniforms, we wouldn’t really be surprised if this was McMillan’s deciding factor.
