Garrett Wolfe Back at NIU Pursuing MBA
Garrett Wolfe used his time at Northern Illinois in the early and mid-2000s to transform himself from overlooked running back recruit to third-round draft pick of the Chicago Bears. Now 28, Wolfe is back at NIU to ensure himself of a bright post-football future.
Following a brief stint with the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes last year, Wolfe returned to his alma mater to pursue his MBA and a master’s degree in sports management. He expects to earn both advanced degrees next spring.
Prior to a six-year professional career, the first four of which were spent with the Bears, Wolfe established himself as the best running back in NIU history. In just three seasons as the Huskies’ starter, he rushed for 5,136 yards and 52 TDs while averaging 6.5 YPG. As a senior in 2006, his 1,928 yards were tops in the FBS.
