Former LSU QB Jefferson Back in Jail
Off the field, quarterback Jordan Jefferson had trouble staying out of his own way before leading LSU to the 2012 BCS Championship Game. The same is proving true afterwards, too.
Jefferson, who was most recently a practice squad player for the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes, reported to a Louisiana jail on Tuesday for the second time in a week following his arrest last week on drug possession charges.
This comes 14 months after Jefferson was charged with second-degree battery for a fight outside a Baton Rouge bar. He was subsequently released on $5,000 bond but suspended for the first four games of the 2011 season.
Following Jefferson’s arrest, Louisiana State Judge Chip Moore revoked that bond and ordered Jefferson to report to parish prison by 2 PM on Tuesday afternoon. Moore also ordered Jefferson to undergo a substance-abuse evaluation.
It remains to be seen if Jefferson can get his life back on track after his latest brush with the law. Jordan Jefferson profile
