FCS School Gets Great New Uniforms
In its first year transitioning from Division II to the FCS, Abilene (TX) Christian football will take the field in 2013 with new uniforms that are FBS-worthy.
The Wildcats — entering their first year of a three-year apparel deal with Adidas — will rock all-black home uniforms with purple trim on both the “Wildcats” splashed across the upper chest and the jersey numbers (making for a very handsome tri-color combination). The road uniforms are an all-white that make the all-purple “Wildcats” and numbers really pop.
The best part of the new threads, however, is the helmet. A glowering wildcat that’s both traditional-looking yet in line with the trend toward bigger helmet decals stares out from either side of the lid. It’s a huge upgrade over the old “ACU” logo the program used to have.
Welcome to the FCS, Abilene Christian; many happy returns. Grade: A
