Ex-Ohio St. QB Craig Krenzel Does AMA
A decade after he helped lead Ohio State to the 2002 national championship, fromer QB Craig Krenzel is still widely respected both in the Buckeyes community and among college football fans as a whole.
On Thursday, the now 32-year-old Krenzel - who lives outside of Columbus and works in the insurance and reclaimed materials businesses - did an “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) on Reddit to promote a new business venture called “Huddle Pass.” Among the topics of discussion were the following
- The party after OSU’s 2003 BCS title game win: “I always tell Buckeye fans that I hope they had as much fun after that game as we did! We had a big party back at the Hotel with players, coaches and all of our families. it was fun to see the coaches in a relaxed state of mind. not a common theme for coaches!”
- The team that reminds him most of the 2002 OSU squad: “I look at Stanford and see a lot of our 2002 team. A team that is frequently looked as inferior to the other big boys because of the style that they play.”
- The pass interference call that denied Miami (FL) the 2002 title: “I do think there was a penalty and I am not just saying this as a homer. I could easily say this it wasn’t if i thought this because i would simply point to a missed 3rd down completion at the end of regulation that would have allowed us to take a knee. bottom line is that was a damn tough game between two talented physical teams. glad i had the chance to be a part of it.”
- Least favorite stadium to play in: “Michigan State by far. Locker rooms were terrible and the stadium was pretty boring.”
Krenzel took great care to answer a good majority of the questions asked. If you have time to spare this Friday, definitely give the whole thing a read.
