Ducks Recruit Stunned at Kelly’s Exit

Any informed Oregon recruit had to know that there was a possibility that Oregon’s Chip Kelly would bolt for the NFL, either because he wanted to test his high-octane offense at the next level, skip town before potential NCAA sanctions were leveled on the program or both.

Yet that did nothing to prevent four-star offensive tackle Nico Falah from being taken aback when Kelly was named the Philadelphia Eagles’ new coach on Wednesday.

Falah committed to USC in July but was still entertaining offers from other schools, as evidenced by his Monday meeting with Kelly.

Jason McIntyre of “The Big Lead” sums up this whole drama the best when he tweeted, “Welcome to college athletics, Nico.”
