DIII RB Rushes for Record 455 Yards
Western Connecticut running back Octavias McKoy not only has possibly the greatest name in college sports, but the all-time college football rushing record.
McKoy, a senior at the Division III school, finished with 455 yards and five touchdowns on 43 carries in the Colonials’ win over Worcester State on Saturday. If you’re scoring at home, that’s 10.6 yards per carry. McKoy broke the previous record held by Marietta’s Dante Brown, who rushed for 441 yards in 1996.
Based on his name alone, we’re guessing McKoy’s postgame press conference included an unfiltered cigarette, wayfarer sunglasses and a leather jacket over his shoulder.
