Backboard Breaks, DII Game Postponed

Most people have never heard of Division II basketball player Trevor Wages or even his school, the Colorado School of Mines.

But on Friday night, both received national attention for Wages shattering the backboard while playing at No. 1 Metro State University of Denver in the first half. Check out the video below of Wages ripping down the rim, flexing and howling while a pool of shattered glass collected in the paint.

Metro State couldn’t replace the backboard so the game has been postponed until 7:00 PM Sunday. It will resume with¬†6:44 left in the first half and Metro State leading 21-16.

If we were Wages, we’d be pumping iron for the next 24 hours and try to replicate the feat as soon as we got the ball on Sunday.
