‘Cuse Tweets About Forcing Boeheim Out
Syracuse fans’ relief over ending a three-game losing streak on Wednesday quickly turned to panic when the school’s official Twitter account posted the following.
The link was to a story penned by a student blogger at a nearby community college. Normally it’s the type of story that sensible people ignore, yet the fact that @SyracuseU posted it gave it short-lived validity.
After going into damage control mode, a Syracuse spokesman denied the story was true. The school’s Twitter account deleted the original tweet and posted this.
#OrangeNation: Earlier tonight a tweet was mistakenly sent. Nothing in the tweet was true or accurate and we apologize for the confusion.

It’s worth noting that the school lets students run its Twitter account — a policy that might be revised or all-out changed following this blunder.
