Clemson Paw Painted on Gamecocks Turf
The first salvo in the 2013 edition of the intrastate rivalry between South Carolina and Clemson has been fired.
A Tigers fan apparently snuck into the Gamecocks’ Williams-Brice Stadium and spray-painted an orange paw onto the turf. “It’s war they put a paw on our field so #disrespectful,” South Carolina DB Victor Hamilton wrote in an Instagram post of the offending photo on Tuesday.
Expect Steve Spurrier to use this prank as a) A motivational ploy for his team; and/or b) Material for a joke on Clemson fans’ inability to draw accurate renderings of the Tigers’ paw logo. (It’s a rather poor facsimile of the real thing.)
Seeing how Clemson hasn’t beaten South Carolina on the gridiron since 2008, Tiger fans might want to keep the pranks to a minimum until they can actually beat their arch-rival.
