Cancer Patient Scores in NU Spring Game

Comments

Kudos to Nebraska for providing us with arguably the most heartwarming moment ever in the history of spring football games on Saturday.

On the final play of the Huskers’ spring scrimmage, seven-year-old Jack Hoffman — who was diagnosed with leukemia in April 2011 and is currently on a two-week break from a 60-week chemotherapy treatment — lined up in the backfield to the left of QB Taylor Martinez.

Martinez took the shotgun snap, handed the ball off to Hoffman and watched him run 69 yards for a touchdown — with the entire crowd of 60,000 and every Nebraska player on the field and the sidelines cheering him on.

Tissues are very, very necessary for when you watch this video.
