Bucknell Announcer Goes Nuts On Layup

Radio play-by-play announcer Doug Birdsong is a lover of life and Bucknell basketball. So much so that the “Voice of the Bison” can even lend drama to a seemingly unimportant, early season game with Dartmouth.

Even though Bucknell defeated the visiting Big Green, 62–49, way back on Nov. 27, Birdsong’s histrionics during the game are just coming to light now. When Mike Muscala made a layup plus the foul to give the Bison a 37–35 lead, Birdsong went absolutely insane.

“And it is good! Good! Good! Good! Good! G-O-O-D that spells good! And it is GOOD! Ha-Ha!” Birdsong exclaimed as if the Bison had just gone ahead late in an NCAA tournament game.

If 12–2 Bucknell is in contention for a Big Dance invite at any point this season, we’d kill to hear Birdsong when he really has something to be excited about.
