Bo Pelini Loses It During Loss to Iowa

Have we seen the last of Bo Pelini on the Nebraska sideline?

Pelini lost control of his temper again on Friday during the Cornhuskers’ 38-17 loss to Iowa to drop Nebraska to 8-4 on the season.

It started as halftime, when Pelini was asked about Ron Kellogg III’s two first-half interceptions by ESPN sideline reporter Quint Kessenich. Pelini’s response? “Well, what do you think? What kind of question is that?”

During the second half, an enraged Pelini was hit with a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty after swinging his hat at an official and nearly hitting the zebra.

When asked after the game about speculation he will be fired, Pelini added, “It’s impacted our football team. It’s hurt our football team. Let’s call a spade a spade. If they want to fire me, go ahead.”

Pelini’s tenure with Nebraska has made more headlines for his temper than anything the Cornhuskers have done on the field over the last six seasons, as Nebraska has lost four games in each.

Don’t be surprised if Nebraska athletic department Shawn Eichorst takes Pelini up on the dare and cans the fiery head coach on Monday.
