Blackout Briefly Halts Indiana-UNC Game
Perhaps the only thing that can slow down Indiana’s well-oiled, high-scoring (87.9 PPG) offense are forces completely out of its control. Such as the power at Assembly Hall.
Early in the second half of the top-ranked Hoosiers’ 83–59 rout of No. 14 North Carolina on Tuesday, the lights at IU’s home court went dark for five seconds. Naturally, the blackout got the crowd buzzing (as well as ESPN’s Dick Vitale freaking out), but the game continued unimpeded after that.
In retrospect, the Tar Heels probably wished that the lights had stayed off. They managed just 22 points in an ugly second-half performance.
