‘Bama Teabagger Gets Two Years in Jail
Alabama is pursuing its third national title in four years. A pursuit that Crimson Tide fan Brian Downing will have to try and enjoy from inside a prison cell.
Downing, better known to college football fans as the “Alabama Teabagger,” was sentenced to two years in jail on Thursday. The 33-year-old plead guilty to in May two obscenity counts for pressing his genitals to the neck of an unconscious LSU fan in the Krystal Burger restaurant on New Orleans’ Bourbon Street following Alabama’s 21–0 victory in the 2012 BCS Championship Game.
Footage of the incident went viral in January. Downing was arrested on Jan. 20, three days after the video was posted to YouTube.
Downing no doubt hopes his home for the next two years has a television with CBS in HD on which he can watch Saturday’s SEC Championship Game.
