Ex-Army FB Player Dies in Afghanistan
Former Army football player Chase Prasnicki was killed late last month in Afghanistan. He was 24.
The Roanoke Times said Tuesday that Prasnicki - an Army 1st Lt. - perished in a roadside bombing on June 27. According to The Times, Sgt. James Skalberg Jr. also was killed.
A funeral for Prasnicki was held Tuesday, the newspaper said.
Prasnicki was a star on the gridiron at Rockbridge County High School in Virginia before playing backup quarterback and safety at Army.
