Top Recruit Daniels Chooses UConn
DeAndre Daniels is going to Connecticut - for now.
The defending national champions came out of nowhere to nab the five-star forward, who was all over the map during his recruiting process.
He committed to Texas in 2009, flirted with reclassifying himself as a 2010 recruit, went cross country from Los Angeles to the Bradenton Academy in Florida, made Kansas a frontrunner in 2010 ... breathe for a second ... then Kyrie Irving said Duke was his landing spot.
So, with Texas, Kansas, Duke, Florida, UCLA, Oregon and Kentucky all waiting with baited breath, he naturally chose UConn.
Although Kemba Walker is off to the NBA, the Huskies now look pretty stacked for next season with Jeremy Lamb, Alex Oriakhi and Daniels starring for them. Don’t bet on Jim Calhoun retiring.
