Calipari 3rd-Highest Paid College Coach

Kentucky’s John Calipari is now the third-highest paid coach in college sports, bringing in over $4.5 million per year with his new two-year extension worth $36.5 million over eight years.

He ranks behind only Alabama football coach Nick Saban ($5.9M) and Texas football coach Mack Brown ($5.1M) and just ahead of Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops  ($4.3M).

Unlike the rest of those coaching dignitaries, Calipari has yet to win at a national championship at UMass, Memphis or in his two years at Kentucky.

With Terrence Jones returning for his sophomore year and another batch of super recruits headed to Lexington, will 2012 finally be the year Coach Cal gets his ring?
