DII School Outdraws BC’s Spring Game
Spring football attendance is worn like a badge of honor at some schools. As in, look at how many fans we can draw for a scrimmage.
Well, Boston College won’t want to flaunt its number.
According to The Gazette, which provides a list of spring game attendance for the BCS conferences and some other FBS schools, there were 200 fans at BC’s spring game. That’s approximately twice the size of the Eagles’ team.
To provide some perspective, Alabama had 78,526. OK, that’s not a fair comparison. But even Temple mustered 2,500 loyalists.
Granted, we don’t blame BC fans. The Eagles went 4-8 last year under Frank Spaziani and lost their best player, LB Luke Kuechly, to the NFL draft.
As BC Interruption points out, Boston College had a smaller listed attendance for its Spring Game than Division II school Michigan Tech (562), which plays in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
