5-10 NAIA Player Wins Dunk Contest
One year after Illinois College’s Jacob Tucker dropped jaws, Martin Methodist College’s James Justice did the same en route to the College Slam Dunk contest title.
The 5-foot-10 guard - a height ESPN announcers admitted could be closer to 5-foot-7 - from the NAIA school in Pulaski, TN, has a 52-inch vertical leap. He bested Auburn’s Kenny Gabriel for the championship. Miami’s DeQuan Jones and Clemson’s Bryan Narcisse also were close competitors.
Justice only was able to compete thanks to a wild-card entry, which he secured from online voting. This video is what was submitted by his school - and let’s just say the man can jam.
The winning dunk was a self-lob that he let bounce and then put between his legs before flushing with the left hand.
We have a suggestion: Let the winner of the increasingly spicy college contest enter the NBA event, which obviously needs a lift.
