Indiana Recruit Uses Forehead for Pass

Maybe the worm has turned for Indiana, a program that couldn’t get out of its own way for the better part of the last decade.

The Hoosiers, revitalized under Tom Crean, are set to meet the tournament favorite Kentucky in the Sweet 16 on Friday. And things are going right for an IU point guard commit for the class of 2012, Kevin “Yogi” Ferrell, who engineered one of the greatest assists we’ve ever seen in a recent state semifinal game.

An Indianapolis native, five-star floor general and the No. 17 overall player in his class, according to Rivals, Ferrell drove into the lane against Providence HS (IN) and banked a pass off the forehead of an opposing player right to a teammate for a layup. Check the video below.

Yes, Ferrell leaves his feet to pass (always a no-no) and certainly didn’t mean to ricochet a ball off a player standing just below the free-throw line to someone right under the basket.

But hey, being lucky and good is a great combination.
