ND’s Woolridge Arrested for Odd Theft

Comments

Former Notre Dame and NBA standout Orlando Woolridge was arrested for stealing aluminum tubes in Louisiana, according to the Chicago Tribune on Thursday.

The report said that Woolridge, 52, took the aluminum tubing from a drill site and was arrested last Friday. He was charged with theft of over $1,500, according to the report.

An All-American at Notre Dame and member of the 1978 Final Four team, Woolridge played in the NBA from 1981-94 and in Italy until 1996. He notably was a member of the Chicago Bulls alongside Michael Jordan until leaving in 1986. Woolridge was suspended from the NBA for drugs in 1987-88.

He is also the father of Tennessee senior forward Renaldo Woolridge.

Since retiring, Woolridge has coached in the WNBA and ABA, where he currently is the head coach of the Arizona Rhinos. We’re guessing the pay isn’t that good if Woolridge is resorting to this. Orlando Woolridge profile
