Jim Harbaugh: IU Manager for a Night

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh, the NFL’s Coach of the Year, is now in the offseason.

As such, the former Michigan quarterback put in some time as the basketball team manager for Indiana, which routed North Carolina Central, 75-56, on Wednesday night.

Why was Harbaugh slumming it in college hoops? He’s the brother-in-law of IU coach Tom Crean and was in the neighborhood. Harbaugh will get back to his day job in Indianapolis, where the NFL combine is held.

But for one night, Harbaugh - known for his cocky style and alpha-dog nature - sat at the end of the bench and carted folding chairs around during timeouts. Click on the video, courtesy of Larry Brown Sports, to see the NFL head man in action.

Tweeted Jeff Rabjohns of Rivals.com: “Tom Crean asked if Jim Harbaugh was a Michigan spy. Harbaugh yelled from back of media room, ‘Hell no!’”

It looks like family trumps school affiliation in the Harbaugh household.
