College sports fandom never dies. Even when it’s lost at sea.
This past Sunday, the Carnival Cruise ship “Triumph” was damaged by an engine room fire. Since then it’s been bobbing in the Gulf, with repairs and tug boats failing to bring it home with the expediency passengers and their families expected.
On Thursday night, however, the 4,200 passengers were finally been returned to the mainland, docking in Mobile, Ala.
There were reports of filthy, unsanitary conditions, which Carnival Cruise Lines has tried to play down. But the real story here is this image of a few Arkansas Razorback’s fans rooting for their team as they waited to disembark the ship with a makeshift “Woo Pig Sooie” sign.
SEC fans never cease to amaze us.
“Woo Pig Sooie,” indeed.
