Appalachian State’s 2013 football uniforms take a “less is more” approach that while simultaneously adding some new wrinkles that we really dig.
Gone is the complicated piping that “weaved” around the shoulders in past seasons. The home jersey is a simple solid black, while both of the predominantly white away jerseys come with black “sleeves.” Two of the three new jerseys feature Appalachian State’s block “A” on the outside of the shoulders, which is a nice touch, and the Mountaineers will rock a matte black helmet (which we always approve of) for every game.
Also a nice touch is the decision to bring back the old-timey, Yosef-inspired look that was such a hit last season. The alternate away jersey and helmet has Yosef on the outside of the shoulders and on the sides of the helmet instead of the block “A.”
These Mountaineers have reached the uniform summit once again. Grade: A
