We’ve heard of Jeremy Lin trademarking “Linsanity” and Robert Griffin III doing the same with “RGIII” but this is just ridiculous: former Kentucky star and projected No. 1 overall pick in Thursday’s NBA draft Anthony Davis is trademarking popular phrases related to his unibrow.
More specifically, Davis told CNBC on Monday that he is trademarking “Fear The Brow” and “Raise The Brow” that became popular as he led Kentucky to a national title in his only season in Lexington.
Said Davis to CNBC: “I don’t want anyone to try to grow a unibrow because of me and then try to make money off of it. Me and my family decided to trademark it because it’s very unique.”
So there you have it: Anthony Davis has taken the unibrow from cultural taboo to fashion trend to potential cash cow in the span of 12 months. Compared to that, turning around the New Orleans Hornets should be a piece of cake.
