‘Bama Governor Disagrees with Tide Plays

Alabama governor Robert Bentley was eager to insert himself into the conversation surrounding the Crimson Tide’s 29-24 loss to Texas A&M last Saturday.

Recently, Bentley was asked by reporters if he would have called a running play on fourth down from A&M’s two-yard line late in the fourth quarter (the pass by AJ McCarron was intercepted).

“I would have run the ball four straight times,” the governor replied, referring to how Alabama had first-and-goal at the six-yard line on the drive.

The clip was replayed by Paul Finebaum’s radio show several times Wednesday. It’s further proof that every citizen, including elected officials, of the Yellow Hammer State is an armchair coach.
