Crimson Tide QB A.J. McCarron was not shy about hiding his emotions following Saturday’s 21–17 win at LSU. An interview with McCarron’s mother, Dee Dee Bonner, on WKRG-TV in Mobile shows where he gets that emotional side from.
Bonner’s voice quivered several times as she described the emotion that her son put into the game as well as the pressure he put on himself following the 2011 regular season loss to LSU. Whenever the camera panned in close, you could see that she was getting misty-eyed.
When she started recalling McCarron running over to her and the rest of the family after Saturday’s win, Bonner started choking up while mentioning how much her son wanted it for his teammates.
