You’re never too old to do what you love. Alan Moore, 61, proved that Saturday, when he became the oldest player to ever enter a college football game.
Moore kicked an extra point for NAIA Faulkner, which is located in Alabama, in its season opener. The kick gave the school a 25-0 lead early in the second half and helped Moore surpass Tom Thompson as the oldest college player.
Faulkner went on to a 41-19 victory over Ave Maria.

Citing College Football Hall of Fame historian Kent Stephens, the Associated Press reported that Moore is a few months older than Thompson, who also was 61 in 2009, when he kicked for Division III Austin College.
A native of Mt. Olive, MS, the AP said that Moore kicked for Mississippi Jones College in 1968 before leaving to serve in the Vietnam War in December of that year. He served for a year and entered the construction industry when he left the military, but still had some eligibility.
But who knew the grandfather of five would use it more than five decades later?
