Stephen Belichick, the son of New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, will be a long snapper for Rutgers this season, according to the Newark Star-Ledger’s Steve Politi on Wednesday.
The younger Belichick joined Rutgers’ football team after playing lacrosse for the Scarlet Knights for four years. He played football at The Rivers School in Weston, MA, where he was a three-year varsity starter at linebacker, tight end, fullback and long snapper.
ESPN Boston reported Wednesday that Stephen Belichick was seen last August being “tutored” by Patriots special teams coach Scott O’Brien during training camp.

We’re sure that the younger Belichick will be a smart player thanks to what he’s learned from his father, but it’s a good thing long snappers don’t have to do many interviews. We don’t need another boring Belichick press conference.
