In a change of pace, Indiana’s Cody Zeller doesn’t want to be rich.
Zeller, who is the prospective No. 1 overall selection in the 2013 NBA Draft, could have gone in the 2012 lottery. However, he chose to return to Bloomington for his sophomore year.
That has raised questions about the decision, including from us, which leaves Zeller susceptible to slipping after not coming out – just like what happened to Ohio State’s Jared Sullinger and Baylor’s Perry Jones.
While those two saw their stocks plummet in part due to injury red flags, Zeller doesn’t have that problem. But it’s clear that he does relish his time as a college kid.
That’s why Zeller helped in the filming of “Don’t Wanna Be a Millionaire” – a remake of Travis McCoy’s “Billionaire” – by “The Big Handsome,” which is Zeller’s nickname. The video was a first-person view of Zeller walking around as the big man on campus, a position that he loves.
“My final decision was that I wasn’t ready to grow up yet,” Zeller had told WDRB.com. “Everyone tells me that college will be the best years of my life.
“I’m not ready to pay bills, buy a house, start paying rent and everything else. There was no reason for me to leave. We’re going to have high goals this year. We’ll see what happens.”
