In the wake of a potential recruiting violation by Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski, Duke spokesman Jon Jackson released a statement Saturday saying the school is gathering facts and “proper adherence to NCAA bylaws has always been, and will continue to be, a cornerstone of Duke Athletics.”
Coach K reportedly offered a scholarship to recruit Alex Poythress while the coach was in Orlando, FL, for an AAU tournament. It’s against NCAA rules for coaches to speak with recruits before they are finished in tournaments.
The news has spread like wildfire over the internet with Duke haters loving every second of Coach K getting bad press and pointing to his shady past with package deals and Blue Devil backers saying it’s being blown wildly out of proportion.
