Former Charlotte star Rodney White, one of the all-time NBA draft busts, was arrested on drug charges, according to the Associated Press on Wednesday.
White, 31, was pinched on conspiracy to manufacture marijuana after he was found to be operating in what amounted to a drug factory in his North Carolina home. The report said that there were grow lights, drying racks and planting materials in White’s residence.
He was arrested along with a woman named Nicole Jackson, whose relationship to White is unclear, according to the AP. But the report said that there were three young children in the house when the pair were arrested.
The ninth overall pick in the 2001 draft by the Detroit Pistons, White earned a spot in the league after leading Charlotte to the 2001 NCAA tournament. But he has been out of the NBA since 2005. White recently signed a contract to play in South Korea.
Needless to snag, that plan has hit a snag.
