Everything is new for UMass in 2012, when it will begin its first season as an FBS member in the MAC.
It will do so with imposing new black-on-black uniforms that are pictured below. Check them out and compare to the usual unis, courtesy of Darren Thellen – a redshirt senior defensive back for the Minutemen – on Twitter.
Thellen tweeted: “Hope everyone is ready for a great season this year…#UmassNation” and provided the photo below. It’s a bit hazy, but you get the idea as it looks to be a pamphlet for UMass season tickets.
UMass has to start somewhere – and it looks to be beginning by try to hardened its image before its roster is ready to back it up on the field.
We hope the players’ reactions are a fraction of this.
