Former Minnesota and NFL offensive tackle John Williams is glad he reunited with Steve Nestor, the trainer for the 1967 Gophers.
Nestor donated his kidney to Williams, who found out a few years ago that he had kidney disease. According to reports, friends and family wanted to help out Williams, but it was Nestor who was the perfect match.
The pair reconnected about five years ago at a Minnesota football reunion. Williams is a practicing dentist in Minneapolis and Nestor a businessman from Glenwood, MN.
The transplant took place this week. Sports Headliners reported that Williams expects to be back at his dentist practice in July.
