We never thought we’d write this, but Tennessee coach Derek Dooley made a cameo on TBS’ “Conan.” Well, he wasn’t actually there.
The Vols coach – who is entering his third season – was not being congratulated for his 11-14 record in Knoxville. Instead, a brief clip of Dooley speaking at a press conference was used in a comedy bit with Conan’s sidekick Andy Richter as a sports anchor.
Richter: “… Your team’s coach says, ‘We want to win the games.’”
That was followed by Dooley saying just that at an actual meeting with the press. We’ll go out on a limb and say this is the last time you will see Dooley on a late-night talk show.
