NAIA School Gets Big-Time Helmet, Logo

Culver-Stockton College has unveiled a new helmet and logo, and it’s better than most that we’ve seen at the FBS level.

Are you taking notes, Maryland?

Check the photo below, which went viral on the internet thanks in part to those on Reddit who shared and liked it. The first of the 44 comments on the site is from delsol5117 and reads: “That’s a damn fine looking helmet! Best of luck in your season against… whoever it is that you play.”

And that pretty much sums it up. The NAIA school of just 853 students in Canton, MO, won’t get big play as the Terps did when they nearly shut down Twitter by debuting their state-flag helmets and uniforms in the season opener against Miami (FL).

The difference? Culver-Stockton’s helmets actually look good. We like the blue matte finish and the Wildcat logo with enough hint of white to jump off the lid.

According to a release on the web site of the Heart of American Athletic Conference, in which C-S College plays, the school worked with Old Hat Creative of Norman, OK, to make this eye-catching new logo that accompanies the helmets.

It’s also a marked improvement over the school’s old look, which one could confuse with a design for a Pop Warner team. Check our before and after photo below, in which you see the Wildcat logo on the previous lids that looks as if it were stenciled by a fourth-grader.

Props to Culver-Stockton and, to paraphrase that Reddit commenter, you will be the finest-looking team, um, wherever it is you play.
