Former North Carolina center Neil Fingleton wasn’t cut out to play basketball. But he may have a budding career as an actor.
The 7-foot-7 British-born Fingleton has a role in the new movie X-Men: First Class as “Russian General’s Bodyguard 1.” Not a huge role but, according to Ballin’ Is a Habit, he’s headed for bigger and better things with Keanu Reeves.
Fingleton, a McDonald’s All-American in the class of 2000, played in a just one game at UNC in 2001-02 after redshirting a season. He then transferred to Holy Cross but scored a whopping 89 points in the Patriot League.
He tried out European basketball and the D-League before hanging up his sneakers to join the Screen Actors Guild.
